Appeal for Information – Shed Burglary, Woodlands Avenue Tadcaster

Police are appealing for information following a shed burglary on Woodlands Avenue, Tadcaster, which occurred during the evening of Thursday 23 January 2026.

Offenders forced entry to a garden shed and a number of items were stolen. Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time, including:

Unknown persons acting suspiciously

Vehicles being used to transport items

Doorbell, CCTV, or dash cam footage that may assist the investigation

Residents are reminded to take steps to help protect outbuildings and property:

Ensure sheds and garages are fitted with good-quality locks

Secure valuable items out of sight and consider property marking

Use motion-activated lighting and alarms where possible

Lock side gates and ensure fencing is in good repair

Report suspicious behaviour promptly
